A Before and After

I bought this little stool at a local Savers Thrift Store. Cute as it is, it's pretty outdated...

So with a mix of paints (Americana's Oyster Beige and Soft Black) I painted the top of the stool to blend well with the bottom. I added a paper doily (from the Parisian Collection of Jolee's Boutique Paper Doilies) and sealed it with Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Spray in Matte.

As cute as I think it turned out...it doesn't match the decor in my home so I'll be adding it to my booth at Counting Sheep Antiques

Mason Jar Crafting for Christmas

When I saw these mini mason jars with pretty green chalkboard lids in the dollar bin at Target I knew I wanted to find a way to use them for Christmas.

So after buying as many as I could get my hands on....13 in total from four different Target stores (yup they sold out fast!!) I decided to use them as gifts for my Christmas guests, which will also serve as their dinner seating place markers.

And the funny thing is, including me....13 is the exact number of people I'll be having for dinner!

So then on to my favorite craft stores....

At Michaels' I bought garland ~

At A.C. Moore I bought mini ornaments ~

At JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts I bought faux snow ~

and came up with these cuties...

(I glued an ornament to the bottom of the jar and poured in about a half inch of faux snow)

(I picked sprigs off of the wreath and hot glued them to the side of the lid)

(and with chalk....wrote the names of my guests)

On a side note....they also had the jars with black lids and I bought as many of those as I could find as well - they're in my craft stash for another day :)

An Easter Bonnet Perhaps

I bought this hat at Target on clearance for $3 but didn't care much for the green ribbon

so I bought a half yard of white rosette ribbon at JoAnn Fabrics and attached it with a glue gun

I just may wear it to Easter dinner with my family

Everlasting Pumpkins...

I thought what a waste it would be to toss out my white pumpkins so I decided to incorporate them into my Christmas decor...

I painted the little gourd with Annie Sloan's chalk paint in duck egg blue and then applied some glittery snowflake stickers to the large white pumpkin

Yes, this is the same white pumpkin that I decoupaged with an anchor (shown in this post) - I just spun the pumpkin around so it wouldn't be seen

What is it About White I Wonder...

That makes me happy....

Truly....I smile when I look at white....so that probably explains white I decorate with it so often.

And these two I can NOT get enough of

Fall Decorating - Coastal Style

I embellished a white pumpkin to fit in with my coastal home decor....isn't she a beauty? The last one I had lasted over 18 months - hoping this one does too.

Pinterest Inspired Nails

I love Pinterest and in particular, pinning to my "Nails" board
....which I've been doing a lot of lately....

These nails (the ring helped!) really grabbed my attention.  So much so that I was inspired to try my hand at painting my own...

On MY nails I used Essie's "Topless & Barefoot" for the base and "Good as Gold" for the tips

and on these.... I tried out Essie's "Find me an Oasis" for the base and again "Good as Gold" for the tips

So far I've been unsuccessful in determining the polish name of the base color in the original photo but a friend thinks it looks like OPI's "Bubblebath"

What do you think????

Guest Bedroom

I first blogged about my guest bedroom five years ago....back when my followers were limited to close friends and family and I had no clue how to enhance my photos :)

I thought I'd share a few pictures again for those who may not have seen or recall the original post

Dining Room in Shades of Grey

I wanted to create a post so that I could participate in Petite Michelle Louise's "Grey Dey Thursdey" link party

Truth be told.... these pictures are of my dining room prior to redecorating and going back a few years as there's not much grey going on in my home at the moment

I no longer have this farm table - I passed it down to my niece

The garden bench has gone through a transformation which you can see here
